The Utah Shakespeare Festival was founded by Fred C. Adams in 1961 and is one of the largest Shakespeare Festivals in the country. The Festival presents classic and contemporary plays in repertory, with Shakespeare at its heart. Performances are live at the Randall L. Jones and Adams Theatres. The Festival offers summer and fall seasons with an average of ten plays per season, which attract a well-educated upscale audience. 60% attend from Utah, 24% come from Nevada and from 16% from other states and countries.
