The Runnin’ Utes’ enter the 2017-18 season after four consecutive years in which they won at least 20 games and advanced to postseason play. Utah will welcome another impressive slate of Pac-12 and non-conference opponents to the Huntsman Center this season.
Over the last four years, the Utes have gone 64-8 on their home court. They have averaged over 12,000 fans per home game in each of the past three years, ranking among the highest drawing teams in the Pac-12 and the top 30 programs in the nation. In all, over 216,000 fans attended Utah’s 18 home games with the game day programs reaching more than 60,000 readers.
Head coach Larry Krystkowiak, entering his seventh year at Utah, has led the Utes to a 94-42 record and four straight postseason appearances since 2013-14. In 2015-16, Utah made the second round of the NCAA Tournament, had its highest finish in the Pac-12 Conference as the runner-up, and made its first-ever appearance in the Pac-12 Tournament championship game. The Runnin’ Utes made the NCAA Sweet 16 and finished with a No. 15 final national ranking in 2014-15. Krystkowiak has also produced a pair of national award recipients over that time with Delon Wright winning the Bob Cousy Point Guard of the Year award in 2015 and Jakob Poeltl claiming the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year award in 2016.ng the Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year award in 2016.
