SPRING SEASON will feature a work by 2010 Guggenheim Fellow Netta Yerushalmy, who will create a brand new piece on the Company. This New York based choreographer’s work juxtaposes beauty and power and contrasts inventive movement with disjointed composition. From this unique vantage point, she is able to distill a work of distinct aesthetic quality from out of the awkward and merely virtuosic. This program will also feature a new work born of a collaboration between Artistic Director Daniel Charon and the Salt Lake Electric Ensemble. SLEE fuses the sophisticated tools of modern music software with acoustic percussion as they seek to interpret the work of a variety of seminal 20th Century composers. In addition to the Ririe-Woodbury Dancers, several extraordinary dancers from the University of Utah’s Modern Dance Department will join this collaborative endeavor.
